The flow of our corrals is cognizant of wild horse and cattle handling, but offers smooth transitions and ease of handling for any horse. From starting colts and gentling wild ones, to improving feel
between you and your horse, on the ground and under saddle - while still being able to trot out into the world and go somewhere! - we put a great deal of work into checking all of our ideal conditions off the list.
Our round corral is the heart and center - a sturdy, solid round-pen with an angled wall, adorned with a beautiful deck to sit, observe and enjoy.
Besides the corrals and working pens, we consider it critical - both physically and mentally - to provide ample pasture space for horses to move freely and simply be horses. As such, we keep 60 acres for just pasture, where horses can stay connected to their most natural way of being.
While we have horse accommodations covered at Heart K, our affiliate ranch - Hole in the Sky - has beautiful accommodations available for the human, set beautifully at the foothills of the Sequoia National Forest. Just a 15 minute drive from Heart K, we strive to maintain a harmonious balance of workspace and comfort.
