Undoubtedly, the horse community today revolves largely around competition. It is our commitment to offer horsemanship through collaboration - the simple idea that horse training does not exist in its own orbit. Understanding horse behavior and how to start a colt with feel is a remarkable skill to develop, however, becomes irrelevant without a working knowledge of the horses body. Or for that matter, access to other professionals who do understand it, and can link physical reasons to behavioral symptoms.
It does indeed take a village - from the trainer to the farrier, the body worker, the dentist and the vet - there is no magic wand for any one trainer to possess.
With this in mind, our schedule of clinics and available network of professionals encompasses a wholistic approach to the horse. Besides his physical well-being, what does he need from us? How can we arrange ourselves and our behavior, a historical adversary, for him to feel safe enough to perform the tasks we seek?
We believe true validation for a horseman shouldn’t be seeing their horse do it, but feeling their horse enjoy it.
It doesn’t seem much of a stretch that the better the horse feels, the steadier your connection grows.
At Heart K, we built our facilities as a platform for all who strive for that something else - for their own sakes and that of their horses.
